In response to Arizona’s growing housing challenges, Governor Katie Hobbs and the Arizona Department of Housing launched the Arizona is Home initiative—designed to support residents across the full continuum of housing needs.
As part of this effort, the Tucson Industrial Development Authority (Tucson IDA) has secured $1.5 million in funding to expand access to homeownership for first-time buyers.
Through the program, eligible households can receive up to $15,000 in down payment assistance, helping make the path to homeownership more attainable. Tucson IDA anticipates supporting nearly 100 new homeowners, creating opportunities for families to build stability and generational wealth.
This investment reflects a broader commitment to strengthening communities by making homeownership more accessible, equitable, and achievable across Southern Arizona.
